HE CAME TO FULFILL - TRIAL AND CRUCIFIXION: FORSAKEN

The Messiah was to be forsaken by God. All the wrath intended for all humanity was to be poured upon Him. 

To pay the penalty for our sins, Yeshua was forsaken by God. There on the cross, He turned to God and asked Him, why had He forsaken Him as written in Matthew 27: 46 (NIV). 

Yeshua was, but for a short while, forsaken by God. He was fully separated from Him, so that the penalty for sin, which is eternal separation from God, could be paid for. We do not have to pay for it ourselves. Now we who are in Christ are forgiven and once more restored unto God. We can once more walk with Him.
