HE CAME TO FULFILL - TRIAL AND CRUCIFIXION: MOCKED

PROPHECY 234

It was prophesied that the Messiah would be mocked and not hide from it. He did not run from those who persecuted Him.

When they struck and mocked Yeshua, He did not fight back. He remained submissive and endured grave injustice for our sakes. Some struck Him, others slapped Him as says Matthew 26: 67 (NIV).

FULFILLMENT 234

Yeshua said, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” (John 16: 33; NIV) In this world, there will be persecution. Some of us may suffer rejection and mockery for our faith in the Messiah. Both can be very difficult to handle.

All of us crave companionship and acceptance; some more, others less. That is but natural. And yet because of who resides in us, we are many times rejected, mocked, and laughed at. To this day, they mock Him, our Messiah. They mock His sacrifice. And it is Him they reject when they reject us.

Let us rejoice in it. Many times, rejection is actually God’s protection, as some say. I do not believe rejection is from God, but it sure is a good sign as to who is in your corner. Establish godly boundaries and let others not encroach upon them. That way, you will trust in God and yet guard your heart from people who are not trustworthy.
