HE CAME TO FULFILL - TRIAL AND PERSECUTION: TAKEN

Messiah will not be given a fair trial and will be treated unjustly. And so it was with Yeshua when He stood in front of the chief priests and Pilate. He was taken by them as though He was a criminal as mentioned in Matthew 26: 47-50 (NIV).

Yeshua was “taken from prison” (= Hebrew word Niph’al), which means they did not proceed according to the Law in His case. They denied Him a fair and proper trial in which He would need to be condemned according to valid reasons.
Instead, they beat Him, and He responded, “If my words are evil, then prove it. But if I haven’t broken any laws, then why would you hit me? (John 18: 19-40). They mistreated Him, and they were clearly the ones who were breaking the law.
Nevertheless, Yeshua still did not succumb and remained sinless. Even when wrongfully abused and persecuted, let us lean on His strength. Let Him vindicate us, keep us up, and deliver us. “For Vengeance is mine,” says the Lord.
